Profile your hearing

We all know how important it is for our eyes and teeth to be checked regularly. The same is true for hearing. For most of us it is the only way to detect changes in our hearing before it becomes a problem to others.

At Hearing Health, we support ongoing monitoring of your hearing. If there is an issue, we can identify which part of the ear system has been affected and co-ordinate a management plan. Medical or surgical intervention may be indicated; or hearing technology to enhance the speech sounds in words.

How is the hearing test performed?

At Hearing Health we perform a comprehensive test to establish the level of your hearing, and if there is a problem, establish which part the of the ear system has been affected.

There are 3 parts to the test:

  1. A test of the middle ear system is performed. A small probe is placed in the ear. You will feel pressure change and hear some louder sounds.
  2. You will be required to wear headphones and press a button each time you hear a sound.
  3. Words will then be presented through the headphones and you will be required to repeat back each one.

This test may be modified depending on your particular problem.
